(Editor note: 1-6 at move 11, trunk, was starred by Gochman. However, in the 1986 ID Bob Burroughs cut 7-10 to a draw. Kansas match play champion, C.W. Nuss, has also mentioned this 7-10 as a move he has always used in ty. play, drawing without problems. So, 7-10 is preferred by some, instead of 1-6. 7-10 was also shown to draw in the Feb 1991 issue of KCR. )

At this point, 23-19 is almost universally taken, with 23-18 going almost unmentioned, as Fortman stated in BC. ON

23-18, 9-14, 18-9, 5-14. At this point, Larry Jordan, playing Carl Reno, recently took 22-18!, (BC shows only 22-17) 14-23, 27-18, 15-22, 25-18, 10-15 and 30-25 etc. Carl Reno pointed out this is back on Ryan's trunk game, col-2 at 5th, in CCS! You will see some fine play on GAMEZONE!

A. Reisman gave this as a hazardous trade. It may be best. Reno said he had this prepared for the recent Nat. Ty.

C. "This is not the best move. Carl Reno. Reno gave no play on 22-17., which seems what he had in mind. See Var-1.

D. Improves Reisman's 14-17 and leaves white looking for a draw.

E. Recently on Gamezone, Albert Tucker tried 25-22, vs. Reno, with Reno mentioning "13-9 will dr,." Acfb-Game-84

A. Since all games on Gamezone are GAYP, the players many times use this to get away form the usual 11-15, with the result usually a Double corner, or a Pioneer.

F. 1-5 is a clear cut win here. The game continued: 14-10, 19-23, 2-7, 18-14, ( 18-15 would seem better) 9-6, 23-26, 6-2, 26-31, 2-6, 31-26, (from here I may not have the exact move order correct, but ultimately the position is, and is the winning SAUKELL-BELL BRIDGE, BOLAND #79) 32-27, 26-22?, 27-24, 22-17?, 24-19, 17-13, 19-16 , and here realizing he had to force the piece into 12, Moiseyev took the king back, forced the pc. into 12, came back to 13 and 13-9* to win the bridge. After pointing out it was the Saukell-Bell, with the move correct for Red, Moiseyev commented he could not believe that 10-15! At move 15, was a forced win. By then I knew the players were in Reisman's V-60. Earlier I had commented to them that the ending depended on "the move" and one way it lost and another it won, having recognized the S&K bridge.

Regarding Moiseyev's comment he could not believe it won, I quoted Reisman: "Not even a strait-jacket draw is available", after 22-18? at move 14. An interesting game to watch, and points out the danger of delaying 17-13 in the Pioneer.

Acfb Game-85

A. Little pp exist on this move. Earl Hangen included a game with his ladder report on this move, asking if the "opening could be drawn!" This move was shown in the and has from time to time been rumored to win.

B. 8-12? Is wanted then it is a WW.

C. I showed 31-27 to draw in the . This is by Jerrell Kerr according to Hangen's notes.

D. Now by Dave Nemshick to a proposed win.

E. The star is by Nemshick. I never went into this, but it may be correct, and draws.

F. Nemshick's play continued 5-9?, 25-21, 14-18, 22-15, 9-14, 15-11 to a WW. The draw is easily overlooked.
