Some Paintings by Alfred Sisley

© Copyright 2003, Jim Loy

Alfred Sisley was a "French" (born of English parents in France) impressionist painter. His paintings are strongly reminiscient of Monet. He died in abject poverty, and remains little known. Here are some of his paintings:

Watering-Place at Marly-le-Roi, 1875, National Gallery, London.

Bridge at Villeneuve-la-Garenne 1872, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

The Chemin de By though Woods at Roches-Courtaut, St. Martin's Summer, 1880, Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal.

Also see Misty Morning, at the WebMuseum, and Sisley, Alfred, also at the WebMuseum.
