I recently took 2nd place in a doubles pool tournament, with Sue Christadora, at the 5th Ace at Gallatin Gateway. My share of the prize money was $143. Let me tell you about the tournament.
As I walked in the door, the little, black kitty cat was wandering around the room, ignoring me. I ignored her, too. Several times, between matches, the cat prepared to leap onto my lap. But I discouraged her from doing this. And she curled up in other laps. Eventually, in the evening, she jumped onto my lap, and purred contendedly as I petted her. She smelled of cigarette smoke. I suspect that it was second hand. She seemed to fall asleep. Eventually, maybe a half hour later, I had to go play pool. And, to our mutual regret, I had to dump the cat off my lap. Both my legs had fallen asleep.
The pool tournament was OK.
