In pool and billiards, when the cue tip strikes the cue ball off center, the shaft bends. This is often called deflection or shaft deflection. Striking the cue ball off center also causes the cueball to deviate from the direction that you aimed. This is often called deflection or cue ball deflection or squirt. One of the causes of this squirt, is shaft deflection.
The Predator 314 shaft is apparently the stiffest cue shaft, resulting in less shaft deflection. The front end of the shaft (the first 5 inches) is reinforced with a cylindrical piece of a composite material, inside the shaft. As the Predator people point out, this less shaft deflection results in more accuracy, more consistency, more power, and better feel (less vibration).
Predator has a variety of butts to go with their shafts. And they have joints to fit a variety of butts. You should probably send them your butt to make sure they fit together straight. I own a Predator shaft, which has helped improve my game. The Predator 314 shaft costs $200, plus $5 freight.
