Algae

© Copyright 1999, Jim Loy

Algae (singular alga) are normally thought of as one celled plants. Most of them are single celled. But most seaweed and kelp are classified as algae, and are multicelled. Some such plants can be over 100 feet long. Algae are plants without true roots, leaves, or stems. Most live in water.
