This is a very funny book. I highly recommend it. Hartston gives the disclaimer that he doesn't cheat nor does he recommend it; he is just exposing the methods of the real chess cheaters out there. He then complains about the low standards of cheating going on, and shows how cheating can be much more creative. Encourage your cat to upset the board when you are losing (cats already know how to play chess, but they do not want to). In an ending race of passed pawns he recommends P-R4, P-R5.5, P-R7 so you can Queen first. The shortest chapter is entitled Friendly Games. The entire text of that one is, "There is no such thing as a friendly game of chess." The next chapter is entitled 'Friendly Games' with the quote marks. This is a book to read two or three times for pure enjoyment.
