Book Review, © Copyright 2001, Jim Loy
This book is obviously one of the great books of all time. Perhaps it even rivals the Bible in its influence over the entire human race. Darwin's writing style is straight-forward, simple, and incredibly interesting and surprisingly convincing, unlike the more flowery language that seems to have been common in those days (1859). This is a book that unified biology (and geology), everything began to make sense. Natural selection is the topic that Darwin examined in fine detail. It is fascinating stuff. This book's influence over biology and geology is as great today as it was over 140 years ago. Whether you agree with it or not, it is well worth reading.
