This is a great story for children. It is about a tiny mouse named Despereaux, a princess named Pea, a rat named Chiaroscuro, and a peasant girl named Megory Sow. It is about bravery and love and hate and perfidy (be sure and look that up, if you don't know what it means) and forgiveness and soup, and it is about empathy which may be the most important thing of all. Despereaux is on a quest to . . . well, you should read it and find out. The story is a delight, and is surprisingly thought-provoking.
