The Merovingen Nights Series - by C. J. Cherryh and others
Book Review, © Copyright 2002, Jim Loy
Back in 1985, C. J. Cherryh wrote Angel with the Sword, about
Altair Jones, a young girl canaler on the labyrinth of canals, of the city of
Merovingen, on the river Det, in the western hemisphere of the planet Merovin.
Ms. Cherryh wrote other books about the same universe, the Alliance-Union
universe. And she edited seven books of stories by herself and other authors,
further stories of the city of Merovin. These are among my favorite science
fiction stories, and I wish the series had continued.
The books in all of the series (I have only read Downbelow
Station and the Merovingen Nights series):
- Company Wars
- Era of Rapprochement
- Serpent's Reach
- Forty Thousand in Gehenna
- Merchanter's Luck
- Chanur
- Pride of Chanur
- Chanur's Venture
- The Kif Strike Back
- Chanur's Homecoming
- Mri Wars
- The Faded Sun: Kesrith
