I've picked up the 7-10 split twice in my life, once in practice
when I was a kid, and once in league this year. Here is roughly how I picked it
up this year. I threw the ball hard and hit the 10-pin full. It bounced out of
the pit and wiped out the 7-pin. That is how these "impossible"
splits (like the 8-10 or 4-6) are normally picked up. It takes a lot of luck,
and a fairly accurate shot. When I was young, I picked it up when my ball hit
the 7-pin twice, and the 7-pin bounced out of the pit and just barely knocked
over the 10-pin.
