Super Relay

© Copyright 2002, Jim Loy

A few relay systems employ a "super relay." If 4H is a relay, then 4S is a super relay, assuming it is not a natural bid. This skips a round of relay bidding. Relayer is not interested in the answer to the 4H relay, and asks the next question in the relay sequence, and there is no way to go back to the previous ask. Most relay systems do not use a super relay. The Symmetric Relay uses a super relay to ask a different question (CRASH Blackwood), instead of skipping an ask.
