Do you remember the Immortal Shower of Copper Game? As I recall, the spectators showered the players with copper coins. The players survived the attack, and even were able to inflict some injury upon a couple spectators. But maybe it was just one of my dreams. I wonder. This may, or may not be that game.
This game was published in Larry Evans' column, in Chess Life, January, 1990. Ron Erickson doesn't like the game, as it may be his ticket to Kieseritskyan immortality (the eternal fame of having lost the most famous game of all time). My apologies to Ron, but I must seize the reciprocal Anderssenian immortality. Besides, I've discovered an interesting sequel to this game, which I'll show you here.

1 c4 e5 2 Nc3 Nc6 3 Nf3 g6 (Conservative but good) 4 d4 exd4 5 Nxd4 Nge7? 6 Bg5 Bg7? (Not so good) 7 Nd5 Bxd4 [diagram #1] 8 Qxd4 Nxd4 9 Nf6+ (Black probably fell for the trap because he expected the reasonable 9 Bxe7, regaining the Queen) Kf8 10 Bh6++.
