The World's Greatest Chess Games - by Graham Burgess, John Nunn,
and John Emms
Book review, © Copyright 2000, Jim Loy
There are quite a few good collections of chess games. This one should
be a classic. The authors ranked the best games in history, and then annotated
the top 100. So, which games are the top fifteen or so?
- Botvinnik-Capablanca, AVRO Rotterdam 1938 (15 votes)
- D.Byrne-Fischer, Rosenwald New York 1956 (13)
- Polugaevsky-E.Torre, Moscow 1981 (13)
- Kasparov-Portisch, Niksic 1983 (13)
- Kasparov-Anand, PCA World Champ game 10, New York 1995 (13).
Some of these are in older collections. But it's nice to have them all
(and more) in one book.
