Finsler-Hadwiger Theorem

We have two squares which share a common vertex. We then make a quadrilateral by connecting the centers of these squares with the midpoints of the next vertices, as shown below. This quadrilateral is a square. Move the large red point to see that the orientation and relative size do not matter:
