Twice in the last two days, I have received phone calls from a jerk named Tony, who is apparently with the Gallatin County Deputy Sheriffs' Posse, asking for money. I'm sure this is a worthy cause. But, I never donate to charities, unless it is anonymously. Nevertheless, Tony was very rude and obnoxious, refusing to take no for an answer, forcing me to hang up on him. It was very upsetting.
Many years ago, I donated to Care, to feed starving children. And, I started getting pleas for help, from every charity on earth. This went on for years, just because of one stupid donation. They are almost like hoboes or con artists who inform each other that Jim is an easy mark. Well, I was soon fed up with that. I have made small donations to five or six charities, in recent years, anonymously and repeatedly. The Gallatin County Deputy Sheriffs' Posse is not one of them.
P.S. The Gallatin County Deputy Sheriffs' Posse has now called me a third time. I was asleep, so I don't know if it was the same guy. He hung up without much of a fight, this time.
