In Egyptian, the standard word order is:
verb subject object adverb
The adverb may be a prepositional phrase (a preposition with its object) as
"to my house". A missing (implied) verb is usually
"is". "Is" is
normally written only when it is to be emphasized, or for clarification.
Independent pronouns (personal pronouns, like "you", which are emphasized), and non-enclitic particles (words like "lo" or "behold") appear before the verb.
Adjectives follow their nouns, except for
"other, another" (or the
feminine version
), which precedes
its noun.
Verbs and prepositions are important clues to where a sentence begins and ends.
