A Wall of Thutmose III

© Copyright 2002, Jim Loy

Above is my drawing of a painted wall showing Thutmose III making an offering to the god Amun. It was in Thebes, and is now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The top of the actual wall is rounded, with the wings curving downward. Of course, some of the text reads left to right, pertaining to Amun, and some of the text reads right to left, pertaining to Thutmose. The column of text bottom center contains some of each.
