Years ago, there were commercials for a baby shampoo, which went like this. A mommy was upset because her harsh shampoo was damaging her hair. She said that she was going to use baby shampoo on her own hair. She argued that if the baby shampoo was so mild that it didn't hurt Baby's eyes, then it must be mild on Mommy's hair. Makes sense, doesn't it?
But a study done about that time showed that the baby shampoo was among the harshest of all major shampoos, on hair. It, like most shampoos at the time, was not pH balanced. The pH balanced shampoos were easier on the hair. Now, as far as I can determine, all shampoos are pH balanced, including the various baby shampoos.
