The Linear Park is a wooded trail that runs diagonally through southeast Bozeman MT. It is where the tracks of the Galligator Railway ran. The city has fixed it up as a park. I was walking home one evening, on the trail, and a young man stopped me and said, "My friend is in trouble." And he pointed to a little side trail which loops into the trees by a beaver pond. He didn't seem distressed by his friend's trouble, and that seemed a little strange. I asked him what kind of trouble. He shrugged his shoulders. He wanted me to go first into the trees. I did, watching him as I went. We got near the beaver pond, and I asked, "Where's your friend?" He said, "He must be gone." I walked by him, and went home, and called the police.
