Britney Spears

© Copyright 2000, Jim Loy

Britney Spears seems to be on the cover of dozens of magazines, every month. She must be quite a musician. Or is she just one of the many untalented young people who use sex to sell CDs and videos and make millions of dollars? I was curious about that, because I get a little upset when I hear that geniuses like Mozart or Monet lived and died in poverty, and that people with no talent make millions. I listened to Britney's latest hit, in which she tells us, "I'm not that innocent." And I think it sucks. I know that the kids love it, must be good to dance to or something. But it sounds terrible to me, with Britney moaning and whining instead of singing.

I checked out a tape on which she was interviewed (really terrible sound quality, by the way). And it had her first three dance videos on it. These were better songs, in my opinion. Her affected little girl voice works fairly well. The dancing was not bad. But I was actually shocked, "Hit me baby, one more time?" Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like she is asking to be hit by her date/partner. What is that all about?

I got a free Britney Spears removable tatoo. I'll never wear it, of course. I just got it so I could mention it on my WWW pages.

Addendum #1:

Critic Tom Shale said, "Rock music was invented so that people without talent could be stars, too." I'm sorry to keep picking on poor rich Britney, but she invites it. She said recently that she doesn't see anything wrong with looking sexy. Of course it is my own opinion, but I think that she often looks very unsexy, nowadays. I saw a poster of Mandy Moore, and Britney doesn't stand a chance. Of course the pornographic pictures and movies of Britney are fake.

Addendum #2:

Britney got married last week, and had the marriage annulled a day later. Maybe she's attracted to married men? As I wrote above, she invites criticism and jokes at her expense. As far as I can tell, she is completely brainless, which is more popular than ever.

I should mention her navel, as some people (including Britney) have dwelt upon that subject. When she was young, she showed her navel a lot. People criticized her for that, and she too commented on it quite a bit. Millions of female navels have been seen at the beach for 50 years now. And they are now in almost every magazine in the supermarket. I can't imagine that it is still an issue.
