18,72: This nine-pointed star (nonagram) is significantly better than the next figure based on a pentagram. Unfortunately, it looks like we cannot delete any lines from this figure, to get a better 17 (or 16) line figure.

19,76 and 20,84 and 21,92

19,76 and 20,84 and 21,92: Adding lines to the nine-pointed star gives the above solutions. We need add no more lines, as there is a better solution for 22 lines (110 triangles), on the next page. We were aiming for the following figure (27,144), which is not optimal:

36, 288: This seems to be a record for 36 lines. But it may not be optimal.
